What Color is the Sun?

A man once built a holy house for his posterity. He painted the walls yellow because this was a sacred color to him. He knew, however, that his enemies wished to undermine his will and authority and would soon sneak in and attempt to change the colors in his house, so he left an inscription saying: “These walls are now and forever the color of the sun. Beware, for, certain men will sneak in and seek to corrupt these colors.”

Not so many years passed after the forefather’s death that these men did indeed creep in and repaint the walls red saying that this was the true color of the sun. They did so, claiming a more clear view of the sun and its dynamics in order to establish themselves as leaders of the holy household. The common people, however, immediately exclaimed outrage since any sensible person can look up and see that the sun is yellow and not red.

Many years of fighting and arguing finally took its toll and eventually, the people, weary from the arguing, either silently succumbed to these new and ambitious leaders and their offspring or just ignored the whole dilemma assuming that even though it made no sense that the sun be considered red, these scholars must know something the lay-people did not.

As the ages went on there would, however, be those zealous ones who would stand and question the red versus the inscription saying: “This certainly is not the color of the sun! Has someone crept in and changed the colors?”

The leaders would then cry: “Behold, it is YOU who are attempting to creep in a change the colors!! Everyone, come and see these men of whom our forefather warned us who would one day seek to corrupt these colors!!!”

These zealots were burned, tortured, or cast out as heretics for seeking to preserve the truth once delivered to them from their forefather.

Jud 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Jud 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
