Hey Chris,

Yeah I see that and I figured that Alex and Jon would be the first to jump in.

I think that Rhonda hit upon the key to all this. The answer lies in the fact that we will be changed. Paul explicitly says that that which is sown is only a bare grain of that which will rise. So is it the SAME body? Paul also says that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom... I've heard people say that while this is true 'flesh and BONES (without blood presumably) can inherit the kingdom. I'll admit that seems a bit far fetched to me.

Didn't the apostle John say that 'is does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we will be like him, for we shall see him as he is'? Doesn't that suggest that John hadn't seen Jesus in his fully glorified state? If John hadn't yet seen Jesus 'as he is' then doesn't this in itself say something about the post resurrection appearances?

I think that both Alex and Jon are avoiding some issues. Paul said that Jesus was raised as a 'life giving spirit'. But Alex says that those who deny the resurrectiopn of the flesh make Jesus a liar when he says 'A spirit hath not flesh and bones'. Didn't then Paul also make Jesus a liar by explicitly stating that he was raised as a spirit?

Paul says that we shall be CHANGED... what is so hard about that? If I changed water into wine (which would be really cool about now), who would argue about what happened to the water? What happened to the water? Was it disposed of so that people wouldn't 'worship it'. Does the wine still 'contain' the water? Is the wine a hybrd 'water/wine' mix? No it was CHANGED into wine.

Moral: It is very unwise to plot on set of scriptures against another.
