O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
(Job 14:13-15)

On September 6th it will be exactly four years since my father fell asleep in Christ. Each year, as the end of the summer approaches my thoughts turn to that painful day. But with that pain always comes the precious promises we have of the resurrection. Just as with our Lord and Master, the Father will not abondon any to sheol. Although I miss my dad in a most profound way, I look forward to that day when he shall hear the voice of Jesus and answer from the grave... to the day when we can sing together 'O death, where is your victory, O grave, where is your sting'.

Death and hades are to be destoyed... what an amazing and glorious truth.
